You are cordially invited to a special evening of outstanding food and wine to help raise money for a wonderful charity, The Cape and Islands United Way. The event will take place at the Orleans Inn on Wednesday, May 14th, where owner Ed Maas is a devoted volunteer and supporter of this charitable group. We are thrilled to be part of presenting this evening to you after Alek and Bob's recent return from Bordeaux and the southern part of France. The wines have been specially selected by our collaborating friend for this wonderful event, Philippe Magrez owner of Château Plaisance, to highlight the greatness of the legendary 2005 Bordeaux vintage as well as the unique and superlative qualities of the wines produced by Bernard Magrez Grands Vignobles from the Languedoc and Roussillon regions along the Spanish border. These areas are rich in history and beauty and their wines are equally terrific! The various wines will be paired with extraordinary hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Orleans Inn culinary staff for your utmost tasting pleasure.

One of the many highlights of the evening will be an auction for "A Week in Bordeaux" generously donated by Philippe and his father Bernard Magrez. Also being introduced this evening will be the unveiling of Orleans Inn's new house wines; "Orleans Inn Town Cove Red" and "Orleans Inn Waterfront White." To help with the design, two local artists, Karen North Wells and Jack Kitson have painted two lovely depictions of the historic Orleans Inn that will be the front labels for the new series of wines. A portion of the proceeds from these wines supports The Cape and Islands United Way.
